“Unleash your inner Klokov.”
That’s what the brand new barbells, plates, and collars from Klokov Equipment promise to do. At age 33, the incomparable Dmitry Klokov – Olympic weightlifting medalist, President of the Russian Strength Sports Asociation, and world champion in 2005’s World Weightlifting Championships – has a new accomplishment under his weightlifting belt: his own line of equipment.
The line offers three kinds of steel barbells: a 20 kilogram Olympic weightlifting barbell, a 20 kilogram sport barbell, and a 15 kilogram women’s weightlifting barbell. To slap on their sides they provide five bumper plates at 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 kilograms and five fractional plates at 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, and 5 kilograms. Lastly, you can hold them in place with chrome-plated collars that weight 5 kilograms apiece.
Every piece of equipment meets IWF color, dimension, and weight requirements for international competition, and the bars are gorgeous, made of steel measured at 235,000 PSI and ten roller needle bearings in a stainless steel jacket. The plates have a colorful throwback look that’s similar to the old school Eleikos weights.

Co-founded by veteran rowing athlete Ian Wilson and serial entrepreneur David Foster, the company promises to help athletes bring their best, “whether it happens on the world stage or the relentless grind that comes from demanding the impossible every single day.”
Right now, there’s a ton of information on the site about how to clean, maintain, and store the different pieces of equipment, and everything you could want to know about the bars’ tensile strength, diameter, length, load limit, bumper capacity, and more.
What’s currently missing is information about how much the products cost and when you can purchase them. For now, it looks like Amazon will be the place to buy for Americans and Again Faster will be providing for Europe and Australia. You can go to Klokov Equipment’s website to sign-up for email updates when they release more information about when and where you can buy.
