Brian Shaw’s Home Gym Has 10 Kinds of Barbells

“This is where all the World’s Strongest Man titles are earned.”

Four-time World’s Strongest Man and consumer of 12,000 daily calories Brian Shaw has invited viewers into his densely-packed home gym in a new YouTube video from the supplement company iSatori.

In it, Shaw displays more equipment than you’ve probably seen in any commercial gym, including more than ten kinds of barbells, five Atlas stones, dumbbells that run up to 170 pounds (77 kilograms), kettlebells that run up to 203 pounds (92 kilograms), a seriously tricked out squat rack, and more.

You can watch the full clip below.

The insanely heavy kettlebells and dumbbells were impressive, but we definitely learned a thing or two about barbells. We counted at least ten different barbells and got a crash course in the “earthquake bar,” which is made from bamboo. Shaw describes it:

It’s really really light. this thing I’ll load with bands and weights and it’ll start to shake, so it’s really good for training stabilization and really good for joint health as well, so I’ll do that for some of my workouts as well.

Shaw also has a custom made bar that can fit four Hummer tires on either side. He says there are only two in the world: one at the Arnold Classic, and one in his gym.

The best part of the video is probably the pure joy on Shaw’s face as he shows us around his home gym and describes most of his equipment as “a lot of fun.” This is a man who loves his sport.

Toward the end of the video, he casually mentions that he has an entire shed full of even more workout equipment just outside, which we’re left to fantasize about. (Could there be a jet for pulling? Probably.)

Shaw may have come in third in this year’s World’s Strongest Man, but he was just two points away from first place. (Plus he set a new Atlas stone world record at the 2017 Arnold Classic, so he’s got a lot to celebrate.) Since Eddie Hall won’t be competing at next year’s WSM, Shaw may be able to add a fifth victory to his resume. Until then, we’ve got the Arnold and a few other strongman events to look forward to,
